We know that becoming a fully-fledged VideoScribe subscriber is an investment. Which is why if you're new to VideoScribe you might be wondering what you can expect to get out of it (other than seriously impressive animated videos 👀) and if you're already part of the VideoScribe community, how you can continue getting results.

Which is why in this blog, we're going to be showing you five different ways you can monetize your VideoScribe videos and cash in more than just an impressed audience. Let's get into the juicy details 👇

1. Sell your video creations

Let's kick things off with what's probably the most obvious way you can make money with VideoScribe and that's to create animations that you can sell. These would most likely be custom videos that you create on behalf of a client.

While VideoScribe is super easy and quick to use, if you've learned some more advanced techniques like certain animation options or how to create your own SVGs, you could be adding value to someone else's business and helping them create more professional-looking videos.

That's exactly what VideoScriber and 2022 Awards winner, Carole Alalouf has mastered. Carole creates incredible custom animations for her clients to help tell their stories. Just take a look at one of our favorites below👇 To learn more about how Carole built her business and creates animations check out our full interview with her here.

2. Share your knowledge in an online course

But it's not just custom videos you can sell - it's also your knowledge. Whether you're an expert at self-building houses or a master baker, turning your expertise into an online course is not only easier than you might think but it can also be a great way to earn extra income.

Plus, whiteboard animations have been proven to improve knowledge retention by up to 15% and hold attention for a whole lot longer which means they're often much more effective learning tools than talking heads videos. With the added benefit that you don't need to be on camera if you don't want to, and there's no costly film equipment to buy - a win win!

It's just a case of planning out your course content, creating your videos and uploading them to a learning platform like Udemy. We've actually done this ourselves, creating a full suite of courses to help VideoScribers get to grips with animation and level up their skills more quickly and easily - take a peek at it here

Just think, what subjects could you share insights on? From there you've got the foundations of your own video course!

3. Create videos to market and sell your products and services

Now let's move onto a couple of ways you can make money from your videos without directly selling them. The first is to use video to promote your products and services. We all know video is far more persuasive, attention-grabbing and effective than text and images alone when it comes to communicating your message.

Which is why having an animated explainer video to tell the story of you, your business and how you help customers can help grow your company. But don't just take our word for it, we've heard from so many of you that VideoScribe has helped you better market and sell your offerings.

One such VideoScriber is Anshul Raja who used a VideoScribe video to propel his study guides into the list of Amazon top sellers, making him a best-selling author in the process. Want to know his secret? Instead of static adverts, Anshul created an animated version of his own personal story, sharing how he struggled to achieve the grades he wanted at school but went on to develop a highly effective revision technique.

By tapping into the emotions of his target audience (students) he was able to show that he fully understands the worries and exam anxiety they face and show them a way out. The video resonated with students so well that he quickly gained momentum from his Facebook adverts, reaching over 2 million students and selling hundreds of copies.

4. Generate advertising revenue from your videos

The next method is all about advertising income and in this case we're going to focus on YouTube. You've probably seen videos created with VideoScribe on YouTube before and it's not surprising because there are hundreds of YouTubers out there making their incredible animations deliver extra results for them.

VideoScribe animations work so well on YouTube because the algorithm loves videos that hold attention and keep people watching for longer. Which is exactly what hand-drawn animation does, it captivates us with the combination of images, sound and movement and helps us absorb information a whole lot faster. With a captive audience at the ready, you're in a good position to start adding adverts to your videos that will earn you ad revenue. Just make sure you have at least 1,000 subscribers and more than 4,000 public watch hours in the last 12 months to turn your monetization options on.

YouTube will then pay you a small amount for each ad view that you generate. While this might not start off as much money, it can soon add up once you have multiple videos and a growing audience consuming your content each and every day. Once VideoScriber who's achieved enormous success on YouTube is founder of 'The Art of improvement', Adam Holownia. Adam released his first video on New Year's Day 2018 and in less than 2 years the channel grew to over 300,000 subscribers.

The first six months were slow going, but the people that did watch the videos loved them, so he knew it was only a matter of time as long as he stuck with it. Once he'd made 25 videos, the channel reached a ‘critical mass’ and gained traction on YouTube. Then a snowball effect occurred and the channel has enjoyed steady growth ever since. Learn more about Adam's journey in our video 👇

5. Harness affiliate marketing

Last but by no means least, affiliate marketing is a great way to make extra money from your videos. Affiliate marketing is the process of earning a commission by promoting other people’s (or company’s) products. It's as simple as finding a product, service or company you like and promoting it to others to earn a slice of the profit from each sale that you make.

So where does video come into the picture? Well, your animated videos can support your message about the products or services. It could be that you create a video review of a selection of your top five email software providers and offer links to buy each of them, or maybe you're creating a video travel guide that promotes some great hotels and restaurants. The reality is, you're probably already recommending tools, people or services in your content, so you might as well get a kick back from your promotion.
