You can now install VideoScribe on your computer. It’s the same VideoScribe you use in your browser, with all the features you know and love — just available as a downloadable app. Start a project on the web, continue on the app, and switch back any time. Two access points. One product.

Why we’re excited
- Two access points, one product: Use VideoScribe on the web or the downloadable app, your projects stay in sync so you can pick up exactly where you left off.
- Keep creating with patchy internet: The downloadable app is more forgiving when your connection dips, so you can keep editing. (Heads-up: full offline mode isn’t available yet, but we’re working on it.)
- Zero learning curve: It’s the same interface, the same features, the same libraries, the same VideoScribe — just installed on your computer for quick access from your dock or taskbar.
How it works
- Download and install the new VideoScribe app here.
- Sign in with your existing account.
- Open your projects — everything you’ve created in the browser is right there.
- Switch whenever you like: Start on the web, continue in the app (or vice versa) without missing a beat.
A quick note on names (and our focus)
To keep things clear as we add more ways to access VideoScribe, we’ve tidied up our product names:
- What was called VideoScribe Browser is now simply VideoScribe, available in a web browser and as a downloadable app for your computer.
- Our older desktop-only product, VideoScribe Desktop, is now called VideoScribe Legacy. It has a more limited feature set and is maintained for security and critical fixes only. Learn more
FAQs
Is the downloadable app different from VideoScribe on the web?
No, it’s the same product and feature set, just installed on your computer for convenience. Your projects are shared across both access points.
Do I need a new subscription?
No, your existing VideoScribe subscription covers both the web and the new downloadable app.
Can I work completely offline?
Not yet. The app lets you keep editing when your internet connection is unreliable, but full offline mode isn’t available today. We’re working on it and will share updates.
What about the old Desktop app?
That’s now known as VideoScribe Legacy. It’s maintained for security and critical fixes only and won’t receive new features. We recommend using VideoScribe via the web or the new downloadable app for the best experience.
