VideoScribe iPad app 1.4.1 was released on 7 March 2014. Gone are the in-app purchases – you can remove the branding for free and access hundreds of new Pro library images for no extra cost. The updated version uses 80% less memory, vastly improving loading performance and stability. You'll also find big improvements to the interface.

Hundreds more free images
Thanks for letting us know that you hate in-app purchases! They're gone. You can now access all the current VideoScribe Pro image libraries completely free. With packs ranging from 'History', 'Science' and 'Business icons' to 'Halloween', 'Teenagers' and 'Unicorns', you'll find lots of inspiration to make varied and engaging scribe videos.
Remove the branding at no cost
Also, it's now free to remove the Sparkol branding from your scribes. All the better for making unique, personalised scribe videos.
Save your scribes easily
The green save ribbon has been replaced with a save button that opens a clearer save dialog. This lets you name your scribe and choose between online or offline saving.
The save button can also be used to 'save as'. By changing the name of your scribe, a new copy is created without affecting the old one.
When you save a scribe, it no longer closes automatically. The scribe stays open for you to continue working on it if you want to.
Helpful timeline icons
Quickly check which sound elements you're using with the new backing track and voiceover icons on the main timeline.
Better image library panel
The new image library panel makes it easier to find what you're looking for. Access content categories, your hard drive, your linked Dropbox account or browse a selection of fifty random images for inspiration.
Images only load when you need them, greatly reducing the amount of memory needed. This frees up space for longer, more complex scribes.
New creative line effects
There are three new line effects to choose from: cutting, zipping and sewing.

The software uses 80% less memory and only loads images on demand, meaning fewer crashes and faster load times.
Optimised rendering
We have improved the quality and speed of video rendering.
