# You don’t have to choose anymore: VideoScribe on the web or installed — same app, synced projects 🎉

TL;DR**:** You can now **install VideoScribe on your computer**. It’s the *same* VideoScribe you use in your browser, and your projects stay **in sync** between web and app. Two access points. **One product.**

[Download VideoScribe](https://www.videoscribe.co/en/download/)          [Open in your browser](https://www.videoscribe.co/app/)

Before you go any further, don't forget to sign up for your 7-day free trial (if you haven't already). Simply click the button below to get started 👇

## No more either/or

In the past, the browser version and the old desktop-*only* app were separate, projects created in one couldn’t be opened in the other. That meant picking a lane.

Now you don’t have to choose. **VideoScribe is one product** you can access **in your web browser** or **as a downloadable app installed on your computer**. Start a project on the web, continue in the app, and switch back any time, **your work stays synced**.

## Names, clarified (and our focus)

- **VideoScribe Browser → VideoScribe** (the current product, available on the web and as an installed app)
- **VideoScribe Desktop → VideoScribe Legacy** (the older desktop app)

We’re building the future on **VideoScribe** (web + installed). **VideoScribe Legacy** remains available but is **maintenance-only** (security and critical fixes) and has a **more limited feature set**.

## Why creators love VideoScribe (web + installed)

⚡ **Get videos out faster** — exports up to **10× faster** than Legacy, plus direct MP4 and GIF downloads.

🤖 **Create content in minutes** — built-in AI generates scripts, images, and voiceovers from simple prompts.

🖼️ **Never run out of visuals** — access every asset from Legacy **plus 5M+ more** icons and illustrations.

🎧 **Fine-tune your sound** — trim, split, and layer up to **50** tracks; record voiceovers; control volume and timing.

🎬 **Tell clearer stories** — organize with **Scenes** and use the **advanced timeline** for precise sync.

✨ **Add polish and control** — entrance, emphasis, and exit animations with smooth transitions.

📱 **Design for any channel** — work on an infinite canvas and choose square, vertical, or landscape sizes.

🔗 **Speed up reviews** — share preview links to collect feedback before finalizing.

**Create your way:** open VideoScribe in your browser or from your applications—the interface and features are the same, and your projects stay synced.

## About VideoScribe Legacy (formerly Desktop)

**VideoScribe Legacy** is our older desktop app. It remains available for existing users, but has **fewer features** and receives **security and critical fixes only**.

**What Legacy doesn’t include:**

- AI tools
- The 5M+ extended image library (Legacy includes ~11,000 assets)
- Advanced audio editing (multi-track trim/split and up to 50 tracks)
- Scenes and the advanced timeline
- Direct MP4/GIF downloads (Legacy requires conversion)
- Preview link sharing
