The key questions to ask yourself
There are two key questions you'll need to ask yourself before choosing which version of VideoScribe to use.
1. Where will your video be shared?
If you're often creating videos for different platforms such as social media, websites and presentations, then VideoScribe for your Browser is the best choice for you. If you'll be creating videos for slideshow presentations and websites, then VideoScribe for your Desktop will be the perfect choice.
2. Where do you prefer to work?
If you prefer to work on the go, VideoScribe for your Browser is a great choice as it can be used on your tablet. If you prefer to base yourself in the office, then VideoScribe for your Desktop is the perfect choice.
Plus, VideoScribe for your Desktop can be used offline, giving you a welcomed break from the constant Slack and Teams messages!
Now you've asked yourself the key questions, read on below to find out more about the features of the two versions of VideoScribe in more detail.
VideoScribe for your Browser
VideoScribe for your Browser is the perfect tool for anyone that prefers to work on the go, or has a fast-paced job that requires fast video creation. You can log into VideoScribe for your Browser from your laptop, computer or tablet, meaning as long as you have WIFI access, you can create videos from anywhere... say hello to poolside working!
We've outlined the main features of VideoScribe for your Browser below.
Use 'scenes' to create videos
Videos are created using 'scenes'. You'll be able to transition between your scenes using a variety of different effects such as fade or erase.
Change perspectives with 'Cameras'
Position cameras within your project to control how your video will move around the canvas as it progresses. When you start a new project the starting camera (C1) will already be set. The starting camera is the area of the canvas that will be in view at the beginning of your video. You can place your initial elements within this area to start your project.
A variety of different canvas sizes
You'll get to choose between a vertical, square or landscape blank canvas. This means you can easily create videos for different social platforms as well as your website. This is ideal if you're always creating content for multiple platforms and for different purposes.
Use on your tablet or desktop
You can access VideoScribe for your Browser on your tablet, such as your iPad, or from your desktop. This means you'll have ultimate flexibility on where you create your videos.
Add backing music or record a voiceover
You can upload or record your own backing music, or record a voiceover to add to your video creation. This is a great tool to level up your videos and make them even more engaging and inspiring. We have our own music library packed with over 200 royalty-free tracks to get you started.
Advanced Timeline
Access the advanced timeline for more detailed editing options. This includes more comprehensive editing for animation timings and audio. You can learn more about audio editing in our advanced timeline here.
Export as an MP4 or GIF
You can export your creations as MP4 or GIF files straight from VideoScribe for your Browser. This means you can create GIFs for your website or emails without the need to use an MP4 to GIF converter tool.
VideoScribe for your Desktop
VideoScribe for your Desktop is the downloadable version of VideoScribe that can be used without WIFI or internet access. This is a great option if you don't always have access to a stable internet connection. With VideoScribe for your Desktop, you'll gain access to our infinite canvas, meaning you can zoom in and out and add as many images as you want.
The main features of VideoScribe for your Desktop are outlined below:
Infinite canvas
You may not be familiar with the term 'infinite canvas', but it really is as simple as it sounds. Instead of being restricted to a square or landscape canvas, you'll have an endless 'infinite' canvas to work with!
You'll get access to a camera tool which means you can visually zoom in and out, allowing you to explain complex topics with ease and add as much content as you want.
Create landscape videos and templates
With VideoScribe for your Desktop, you'll only be able to create landscape videos and this means you'll only have access to landscape video templates. This is the ideal format for slideshow presentations, website content and YouTube videos, but not so great for social media platforms. So, if you're a social media marketer, this may not be the best option for you! Of course there are a few hacks and tricks you could use to make it work for social media, but VideoScribe for your Browser is much easier and faster.
Export as MOV, AVI or JPEG/PNG sequence
With VideoScribe for your Desktop, you'll be able to export your videos in MOV or AVI format, or as JPEG/PNG sequences.
You can also choose your frame rate and the resolution of your video, e.g. 'full HD', 'mobile'...
No internet access required
As VideoScribe for your Desktop is downloadable, it does not require a WIFI connection to be used. This is great if you struggle to access a stable WIFI or internet connection, or if you prefer to work on the go.
