What is World Arabic Language Day?
As the name suggests, December 18th is a day to celebrate the beauty, cultural diversity and importance of the Arabic language. The date coincides with the day in 1973 that the General Assembly of the United Nations adopted Arabic as the sixth official language of the organization.
The theme for this year's day is “Arabic Language, a bridge between civilisations”. Which is a reminder of the important role Arabic plays in connecting people through culture, science, literature and more. The theme also highlights the history of Arabic which played a crucial role in creating and transmitting knowledge as well as improving dialogue and building peace.
Which is why we wanted to celebrate the day and provide resources you can use to get involved!

How to write in Arabic with VideoScribe
Now you're probably wondering how you can create your own animated videos in Arabic and other languages. With VideoScribe it's easy, we support text in lots of different languages including Arabic. Plus, as with all languages that read from right to left, VideoScribe adapts the direction of the drawing hand to suit Arabic. Meaning you have a perfect video in Arabic ready to share with your audiences!
Here's how it's done in VideoScribe for your Desktop:
Step 1: Open your scribe or create a new one
First things first, you need to have VideoScribe open and ready. This could be open to an existing video file or a brand new video.
P.S. If you're new to VideoScribe, you can try this out for free with a trial.
Step 2: Click to add text
Next, click the text icon to open the text editor. Here you'll see the text options including font, colors, styles i.e. Bold, Italic etc. and alignment.
Step 3: Choose an Arabic-supported font
Now, not all of our fonts will support each and every language due to the way they're designed. So to find the fonts that work well with Arabic, click the funnel icon and select your chosen language. This will then tailor the results in your font list.
It's then just a case of picking the one that's right for you!
Step 4: Share your message!
Lastly, of course it's time to write your message, make any necessary adjustments to color, alignment and style and then click the check mark to add your text to the canvas.
